单词conundrum主要有两方面含义：

① 表示“令人迷惑的难题，复杂难解的问题”，例如：

They believe they have cracked the conundrum of what came first: the chicken or the egg.

他们相信自己已经成功破解这个难题——究竟是先有鸡还是先有蛋。

② 表示“（含有双关语、俏皮话的）谜语”，例如：

What is black and white and read all over? A newspaper
