On the occasion of thisopening ceremony, I would like to express my deep appreciation to the host for this opportunity to adress the topic of peace and development and pay my highest respect for all thereprasentatives present at the meeting.
这次会议为我们交换意见，消除误解，达成共识提供了理想的.场所。我愿借此机会就世纪之交建立一种世界政治与经济新格局，世界和平与发展的前景以及联合国的作用等问题阐述我国政府的立场和观点。This meeting provides us with an ideal arena where we will exchange views, clearmisunderstandings and reach common ground. I would like to take this opportunity to elaborate on the positions and views of my government on the issues concerning the establishment of a newinternational political and economic order at the turn of this century, the prospect of world peace and development and the role of the united nations.
